Inspired by the legendary Motown EQ, the Drawmer MQ-2 is a stereo, seven-band proportional-Q equaliser with the musical curves of the classic designs used in Detroit studios of the 1960s.
But the MQ-2 is more than an EQ. It also includes an effortless one-knob compressor and Drawmer's CRUSH harmonic circuit, adding warmth, weight, and life to your sound.
This 100% analogue design features seven bell-shaped bands, each offering ±10dB of variable boost or cut at carefully chosen musical frequencies.
The one-knob compressor is equally intuitive. Being programme-dependent, it automatically adjusts attack and release to suit the signal, helping control dynamics while keeping the sound natural and open. You can also switch the order of the EQ and compressor in the signal path to suit your workflow.
Clear metering for both compressor gain reduction and stereo output makes it easy to set levels for optimum performance.
It could turn out to be the only EQ/compressor you'll need.
What sets the MQ-2 apart is the inclusion of Drawmer's celebrated CRUSH circuit, first seen on the 1971.
Engage CRUSH and the MQ-2 becomes more than an EQ and compressor — it transforms into a powerful saturation tool. It adds harmonic richness, subtle distortion, and that elusive analogue warmth that brings mixes to life. The low end fattens, the mids gain presence, and the top end sparkles with smooth shimmer.
Simple to use, the CRUSH effect increases with EQ boost — the more you add, the more harmonic colour you get.
Proudly designed and built in the UK, the MQ-2 embodies Drawmer's dedication to quality, precision, and sonic excellence.
Whether you're chasing vintage soul tones or shaping your own modern sound, the MQ-2 delivers unmistakable warmth, depth, and character.
